Crockpot Pot Roast

This was pretty good.  I was looking for a good thing to do in the crockpot, that would provide plenty of leftovers during the week.  Cooking after a full day of work is a bit much these days, when I'd rather spend my time playing with my kid or helping him with his homework.

I stretched this meal even further by adding a can of Dinty Moore beef stew later in the week, and also some canned beans.  I had the stew for our camping trip, and it never got eaten.


The chuck roast was about $24 at the farmer's market (I know, not particularly frugal, but cheaper than eating out still, when you realize that we got 5 good meals out of it).  The first cook in the crockpot had onions, carrots, tomatoes, and turnips.
And an obligatory breakfast pic: bison sausage from Costco and an omelet.

I haven't been so "primal" this week.  Free lunch at work 4 days, and a lot of carbs, but some times of the month, you just gotta.

this looks fabulous and though it was not cheap i bet it is much better for you to eat. any interest in doing the santa barbara half in jan with me?

There's a Santa Barbara half marathon in November. I am thinking of doing that one, but mostly walking it. I can only really run about 3-4 miles right now, and I'm okay with that.

There's a wine country half in May. Is there another one that I don't know about?

I like meals that last more than one day. I have a large family and that's important to me. You should buy grass fed beef from La Cense Beef. It tastes amazing, they deliver it, and it's very affordable and is also cheaper than eating out.
